“Who in the world am I? Ah, that’s the great puzzle.” Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

I’m just another 20-something trying to make their dreams come true in a difficult world. I’ve done a pretty good job of it so far, but I’ve still got a long way to go before I tick everything off my list. This is my record of my adventures and thoughts along the way.

I’m Lucy,  an Anglo-Mauritian Norfolk-born girl who escaped her home town long enough to graduate from the University of Hertfordshire with a 2:1 BA Hons in English Language and Communication and English Literature. You might have guessed that language and books  are my passion and I am a self-confessed writing addict, so it was a relief to start a blog and to finally have a special place for all my thoughts. In my time I’ve worked as everything from a waitress and Shakette, to a columnist and more recently a journalist. I love journalism, it’s fresh, exciting and challenges me. However, over my time at the newspaper I have realised more and more that my interest truly lies with entertainment writing and digital work which was a big part of my reasoning for starting this blog and for taking up the role of running the entertainment section and website for The Lynn News.

What little free time I have, I give to writing on this blog and I am also the editor of This Festival Feeling. I really enjoy my work as editor and it has opened me up to a whole world of festival and entertainment writing, while giving me the opportunity to experience many of these incredible events. It has helped me realise that I would love the opportunity to move further into this field either by working with festivals directly or by working for publications that promote festivals.

I’m a bit of a busy bee and don’t really like just sitting around waiting for life to happen. I’m definitely one of those people who grab life by the horns and swing it round. I’m a bit of a fitness fanatic and I’m always up at the gym, running, swimming or cycling, or at exercise classes. I love spending time at my family’s beach hut at Old Hunstanton, or sunbathing in the garden with my grumpy pet tortoise, Mr T. I love music and festivals, travel and food, but I have such varied tastes that you could find me swing dancing at a midsummer ball on a country estate, or raving on a Croatian beach to top international DJs until dawn. I’ve been lucky enough to travel across the world spending Christmas Day in Mauritius and New York, holidaying in Florida, Morocco, extensively across Europe and the UK and I have loved every trip. I’m always planning my next getaway and am currently planning my huge backpacking trip across South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand for next year.

I love to meet and connect with fellow bloggers, so please do get in touch, comment below and say hi!
